Hear A FOREIGN AFFAIR "lean more aggressive" on new single "Hollow"

A Bad Omen-esque piece of pop-infused alt-metal

Sacramento alt-rockers A Foreign Affair have been steadily building up a catalog full of darkly anthemic groovers over the past few years. Today (May 3rd), they've added an especially chunky, Bad Omens-esque single called "Hollow" to that growing songbook.

The band's latest single quickly cross-morphs the intro's pop-trap beat work and chopped-up vocal samples with gale-force drumming, detuned guitar riffage, and raspy acrobatics from vocalist Alex Strobaugh (formerly of Incredible Me). All told, the sonics are a bit heavier than the dark-pop-exploring Still Frame LP from 2023.

As for its lyrical themes, "Hollow" is an anthem of resilience for anyone wanting to face their personal demons, break out of their vicious cycles and emerge from the shadows a better person.

Produced by Matt Thomas (Darko, Kingdom of Giants, Nerb), the single arrives with a moody, subterranean, gold-glitter-and-grime-coated video directed by Shan Dan Horan (Demi Lovato, Volbeat). You can check it all out up above.

"'Hollow' is the first glimpse of our new album produced by Matt Thomas," A Foreign Affair commented in a joint statement. "Working with Matt has really channeled our active-rock sound as we lean more aggressive on the new singles. Look forward to showing fans more of what's to come"

"Hollow" marks the first new music from A Foreign Affair since last fall's Still Frame, and it comes via SBG Records.
